Annecy

Posted by Lorna on Sunday, July 4, 2010,
I went to annecy for the first time this year. I was disappointed  with the amount of time that we all had to spend queuing up for tickets and I couldn't get into the MIFA part because I didn't have the right pass, but I saw a lot of fantastic films and the atmosphere was amazing. It was crazy to see an elderly man play with a giant balloon in the final ceremony, really leaping out of his chair he was.

I could only get half a week off work so I missed alot of the screenings. I went to the bes...

Collision

Posted by Lorna on Wednesday, May 12, 2010,

The last lecture I went to at University was an all day masterclass with Chris Hopewell and Barry Pervis. When I was little my mom would let me watch her VHS of the Aardman collection, which had Next on it a film by Barry I used to watch this tape over and over. This is where I got my love of animation. Of cousre back then I didn't understand what it was about I just loved the movement. I got Barry to sign his book for me. He signed it 'Dear Lorna, good luck out in the big wonderful world of ...

The Good the Bad and the Bogey

Posted by Lorna on Wednesday, May 12, 2010,

For Daniel Brains film The Good the Bad and the Bogey I created some colour concepts.

These were the first two concepts that I came up with. I then was given the following bedroom scene to match the colour scheme to:

So to try and make the colours match this scene better I created these. The second of the two I think is a better match.

I like trains

Posted by Lorna on Wednesday, May 12, 2010,

One of my side projects that I worked on was a documentary project.  For this project I created 3 props,

Headphones made out of card, they had a wire inserted around them so that they could be put on the head and they would not have to be glued.

An Ipod

and a paper cup.

Here is a still from the film where you can see all three in place,

Posted by Lorna on Wednesday, May 12, 2010,

Introduction

I am a third year animation student in Newport University. For my final year project I decided that I wanted to work on other peoples projects as well as my own. This book is a record of the other side projects that I worked on this year.

John-lynton Bryan's The Collector

We decided that I would be the acting producer and help with the props and set on The Collector. I worked out a week schedule and a monthly schedule for us to work with this helped as I had to organise my time...
